One Was Enough --- [OF]

"So you've only been with one man your entire life?" Amber asked shocked.

"Yeah, what's wrong with that?" Nicki laughed.

"I mean nothing but. . . Nevermind." She shook her head and continued to apply her makeup.

"No, what?" Nicki put her lipstick down and looked at Amber curiously.

"You've never experienced anybody else. Like, doesn't that make you like. . .like depressed or some shit?" Amber looked concern. Nicki laughed at her dramatics.

"No, I've never wondered. Safaree is the love of my life, my husband and the father of my child. Everything is perfect."

Nicki wasn't lying. Everything she'd built from her career to her family she had done with Safaree. He never gave her a reason to want to be with anyone else.

"I mean, how do you know everything is perfect when you've never had anything else?" Amber was right but Nicki shook her words.

"And I'm sure you're not the only woman he's been with."

Amber's words hit Nicki's ears and sent emotions through her that she'd never felt. She had never thought about if he had been with other women. All she felt was jealously and doubt. What if they were better? What if he didn't enjoy being with her?

"I wouldn't worry about it though. You guys have been together for like a million years." Amber laughed but the seed had been planted.

*7 moths later*

Nicki continued to play that conversation with Amber over and over. If only she would have never paid attention to Ambers comments. She shouldn't have worried about it but eventually it ate away at her curiosity until she found herself in someone else's bed. Two someone else's to be exact.

She cheated the first time on her husband to see if she was missing anything, she wasn't. At that point she should have continued on life like nothing happened but she didn't. She began dating different men in hopes to find one to sleep with that would be better than her husband.

She started spending less time with her family and wrapped herself in a search. She didn't know what she was searching for and she didn't know what she was pulling herself from.

Nicki pulled up to her house and saw Safaree sitting outside with bags.

"Where are you going?" She slammed her door. She was pissed at the possibility of him thinking about leaving her.

"No where. You're leaving." He said coldly and began walking towards her car. She hit the lock button.

"What?" She tried to grab a bag from him but he jerked his hand back.

"You cheating on me? I could deal. I really could because I knew it wasn't going to last long. You abandoning our family? Nah, I won't deal with that shit."

"I didn't cheat on you Safaree. I just been busy." She tried to grab a bag again.

"All through your career you surround yourself with people you trust and you just up and decided to start traveling and taking meetings on your own?"

"People grow up Safaree. Give me my shit!" She couldn't even look him in his eyes.

"Fuck you Nicki. Your son wrote his name for the first time today while you cooped up in a hotel with the next nigga."

"Safaree. . "

"Don't try to play me like I'm fucking stupid Onika! We been together for years, I know every lie you're about to tell me before you say it."

"He wrote his name?" Her eyes became glossy. What else did she miss?

Safaree put one of the bags down and reached in his pocket. He pulled out a piece of paper and Nicki unwrapped it. It was a drawing of three stick figures. The tallest was blue and it said Daddy below it, the middle was green and it said Omar, the last one was pink and it had no name. She broke down crying.

"You have a weeks worth of clothes. Stay away from us for a week, get your head right. Call if you want. . .you don't have to."

"Safaree. . .you can't just-"

"Its what's best. Come by on Saturday and let me know your decisions." He put both bags down and began to walk away.

"What is there to decide?! I want you! I want my son! I fucked up," she began approaching him. "Don't do this, Safaree. Please. I don't want anything else."

She was crying and shaking her head.

"Let me know if you feel that in a week. I love you but I can't be in this thing alone. I won't. "

She watched him walk into the house. Tears continued to flow down her cheeks as she packed her things. She picked up her phone.

"Hello, Brandon? Meet me at our normal spot."

Ok, don't kill me but idk if I'm going to finish this. This idea just came to my mind and I had to get it out. I will finish Fallen Star, I just have to figure out how.
